Reluctant Housewife: Living Room Makeover!
After living in my home for twelve years now, longer than I've ever lived anywhere, I started looking around and realized that it desperately needed an update.
Not that I don't love watching HGTV and stay up on what's happening in the world of home design, I do. But, sometimes it's hard to see the forest for the trees when it's your own place.
I'd been wanting to redo my home for a while now but I could never come to the conclusion of what that would actually look like. I'd pin and pin on Pinterest all of the looks I loved but never thought I'd have the guts to do. Like, paint a wall deep green that almost looks black. But, I have the light to handle a dark color and I knew it.
One morning tired of waiting and going back and forth I said f&*k it I'm doing this and started trying to sell my furniture which nobody wanted. I certainly didn't want to haggle with someone over a couch that was worth $50 if I'm being generous and other kitten worn furniture deteriorated by years of West Hollywood soot and grim, so it was donated.
Sometimes you just need to get rid of the parts of your house that have become the parts of your past. C'est la vie.
I'm happier than I've ever been and my house finally reflects that. For someone who loves the color white I went crazy adding color everywhere and haven't stopped yet! They say your home reflects your mind and how you feel about yourself. Well, I'm skipping' happy in my head and in my home!
