Reluctant Housewife: Honey Orange Cake
Sometimes cake can just be too much, you know? All of that frosting and sweetness can just be overwhelming. That's why I love this honey orange cake. It's made in a loaf pan, has no frosting and is best eaten with tea or coffee with some melted butter on top. Or, better yet, honey butter! This is a perfect cake to bring to a breakfast, brunch or just to have in the house as a snack around tea time.

Honey Orange Cake
1 TBSP orange zest
3/4 cup honey
2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 TBSP fresh orange juice
8 TBSP melted butter
1/2 cup milk
Set your oven to 350 degrees. Grease a loaf pan and set aside.
Starting with you dry ingredients combine all including your orange zest, and whisk together. Set aside.
Combine your wet ingredients. Whisk together.
Combine in thirds your dry mixture with your wet mixture and whisk until smooth.
Pour into your loaf pan and place in the oven for 30 minutes. Check with a toothpick and if it comes out clean it's done. If it doesn't check in intervals of two to five minutes each.
Let cool for ten minutes, slice, add butter on top and enjoy!
