Reluctant Housewife: Eggnog Snicker-doodle Cookies

Happy holidays kids! For those of you who just finished your semester and are thrilled to be out of finals like I am, Go Team and congratulations! I took a little break this year from filming Reluctant Housewife to go back to school and while I love school and studying I missed making my series! Going forward I'll be putting out two videos a month instead of four so I can manage my life, school and making delicious treats for your all!

This recipe screamed to be made so let's get to it! Who's down for some eggnog snicker-doodle cookies-- with a hint of Jack Daniels? I am!

Eggnog Snicker-doodle Cookies

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon cream of tartar

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/3 cup brown sugar

1 egg

1/3 cup eggnog

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

For Rolling the cookies

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Combine your dry ingredients together in one bowl. Flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and mix to combine with a whisk.

Next, add room temperature butter and your sugars together and mix with an electric mixer. Once combined add your egg and then mix. Add your eggnog and vanilla and mix.

In quarters add your flour mixture to your sugar mixture. I like to go in thirds. Mix until combined after ever quarter.

Take a spatula and combine your dough into a ball getting any left over flour from the sides of the bowl into the mixture. Cover with seran wrap and place in the fridge for 2 hours.

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Place parchment paper onto a cookie sheet or two.

Combine cinnamon and sugar into a bowl for rolling. Take 1-2 inch chunks of cookie batter and roll into a ball. Flatten it between your hands. Place ball on your pan about two inches apart from each cookie.

Bake for 5 minutes to maintain a chewy consistency. And, enjoy with some eggnog and Jack Daniels!
